The Communications Officer will be responsible for supporting the implementation of a communications strategy designed to raise the profile of ScotsCare

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Communications Manager:

  1. Support the delivery of a communication strategy across the entire spectrum of communications  disciplines including media and public relations, internal communications, brand marketing, advertising, marketing, social media and production of materials;
  2. Increase ScotsCare’s  profile among the Scots community in London generally and especially among those who may require our assistance;
  3. Develop relationships with relevant organisations and communicate the work and ethos of ScotsCare;
  4. To attend and provide support to the Communications Sub-Committee

Experience

General

It is essential that the post-holder has experience of the Scots in London community and the Charitable or not for profit sector.  Experience in PR/press, or marketing/events and or digital communication platforms would also be desirable.  The post-holder will also have experience of working with both digital and print media. It is desirable that you have proficiency in Raisers’ Edge Database.

Team responsibilities

Co-operate within the total staff group of ScotsCare ensuring an effective service to clients and contribute to team training and skill sharing among team members as appropriate.

General

Be prepared to undertake any other duties commensurate with the level of the position as required by the Chief Executive.

Remuneration and Terms

  • The salary for this post is £30,691 – 35,324 per annum (pro-rata)
  • There will be a 7-13% contribution (dependent on employee level of contribution) from ScotsCare towards a Pension Scheme
  • 25 Days annual leave plus statutory holidays (pro rata)
  • Flexitime working and other benefits
