An inside look at the available sheltered homes for ScotsCare clients

The Open Day and Garden Party at ScotsCare’s Rothesay Court property, included tours of the new flats for potential new residents, and an insight into life in the housing block.

Of the 12 new high quality, light and airy flats, 7 are currently available and ScotsCare is looking for new tenants to offer a safe and secure supported home. For eligibility and how to apply for a home, please see below.

Location

Rothesay Court is a short walk away from Grove Park train station, in south East London. Its also an ideal location for numerous bus routes, supermarkets and post office.

Flats

The homes are self contained light and airy flats, finished to a high standard. They benefit from a lot of natural light, and some are on the top floor with good views.

Modern finishes throughout

Most of the flats are one bedroom, and are freshly painted and carpeted 

Modern kitchens

Which feature fridge freezers and cookers. ScotsCare can help with the cost of other essential items.

Modern bathrooms

Finished to a high standard, the flats come with new bathrooms.

Communal lounge

Communal spaces, such as the large lounge and garden, are a space to socialise with fellow Scots.

Onsite support worker

The onsite support worker provides support with rent, benefits, maintenance and most other issues to help maintain independence.

 

A community of fellow Scots

The support of a communal environment with those from a similar background. When Covid restrictions are not in place, regular social gatherings and events are held.

Who is eligible and how to apply

All our clients take part in a housing assessment to ensure suitability before they are offered our accommodation. After this assessment they may be offered a flat and we currently have vacant properties. We are also able to provide funds for the moving costs if required.

Our criteria is 1st and 2nd generation Scots living in London and are aged over 55 though we will consider those over 50 who have a disability.
