The ScotsCare Choir celebrates Burns Night remotely

Burns Night saw around 30 ScotsCare clients, volunteers, staff, Blether Buddies and Trustees meet over Zoom for the regular ScotsCare choir rehearsal with the special exception that it was to celebrate Robbie Burns on his famous night.

The event began with an address to the Haggis by performance poet Alain English, followed by new members and old joining choir leader Alice through renditions of favourite songs. Auld Lang Syne and Ae Fond Kiss featured, and even Tom Jones’ It’s Not Unusual!

Some shared stories and poems of the meaning that Burns Night holds for them. The usual ScotsCare Burns Dinner meet up can’t of course happen this year, but the chance to check in and meet up virtually was enjoyed by attendees with the spirit of the night being felt.

The choir is open to everyone, and all singing abilities! If you would like to join in please send an email to socialevents@scotscare.com mentioning your interest.
