Pension credit: know your rights

Since August 2020, the BBC only provides free TV licences to people aged over 75 if they are claiming pension credit.

By claiming Pension Credit you may also be able to get help with your mortgage payments, your Council Tax, fuel bills, and healthcare costs. If you are renting your home and are receiving Pension Credit, you might be able to claim Housing Benefit to help cover your rent.

Even if you’re not eligible for Pension Credit, you may still be able to claim other support. For example Attendance Allowance, Carer’s Allowance, and help with energy costs.
