ScotsCare Media Working Group looks for new members to help influence communications and marketing
Could you help more disadvantaged Scots get the support they need?
The ScotsCare Media Working Group is a small friendly group of staff and volunteers that meet every two months to discuss and execute ideas on how to promote ScotsCare via all forms of media. We are looking for new voluntary members to bring fresh ideas and collaborate in reaching more Scots in London in need of support.
ScotsCare is a charity that supports disadvantaged Scots in the capital, through a range of tailored support, including mental health support, sheltered housing, financial grants and social events to name a few. Our vision is to permanently break the cycle of deprivation experienced by generation after generation of Scots in London.
As an example, you could be a connected young media professional, looking to broaden your experience and offer fresh perspectives, or you may have knowledge of, or experience in social media or journalism. You may be Scottish or have a connection to Scotland, although this is not essential. ScotsCare encourages diversity of gender and of background. If you feel like you have something to contribute then we interested in hearing from you!
As a small charity it is a real chance to have a direct impact on new ways of influencing our communications and marketing to Scots in London and to ultimately deliver more support to those in need. It could be a chance to gain hands on experience at the early stages of your career in journalism or social media for example.
Members would be expected to attend a one hour meeting every two months, which are currently running remotely due to Covid. Usually, meetings are held in the charity office at Old Street, though the possibility of remote attendance might continue post Covid, physical attendance at some meetings would be desirable.
