A New Start

Bo, who originally hails from Crieff in Perthshire, got in touch with ScotsCare with the support of his son and sister. Bo had been ill in hospital for a time and thankfully had recovered, but upon being discharged had no housing to go to.

Bo, who visited the flat with his son, explains how his jaw literally dropped when he was shown around the flat. He was taken aback by how spacious, clean, and modern it looked. He was convinced initially that he wouldn’t be accepted as a tenant, but now, nearly two years later, he stressed what a lifesaver it’s been for him.

Upon moving in, Bo had only a few possessions and no furniture, so through the support of his allocate Client Support Worker, ScotsCare supported Bo with grants for household items. The grant provided a new bed and sofa, along with a voucher for Argos to help him buy the other small household items he needed to enjoy his new flat.

About living in ScotsCare’s sheltered housing, Bo said:

“Living here is fantastic. The staff, the tenants and even the ‘home helps’ are so very friendly. After my illness it gave me the hope and encouragement, I needed to start a new life. I am forever indebted to ScotsCare.”
